LUCNKOW: Senior advocates Kapil Sibal, Rajeev Dhawan and Raju Ramchandran will be the advocates-on-record representing the Muslim side in the Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute case on behalf of the
All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB). The SC is set to start court proceedings from February 8 on the case in Delhi.
The Sunni Waqf Board, the primary litigant in the title dispute, will be represented by senior advocate Shakeel Ahmed Syed.
The AIMPLB and the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board, representing the Muslim side in the dispute, are both preparing to present their side in the Supreme Court.
Senior members of AIMPLB, members of All-India BaBabri Masjid Action Committee, and the senior advocates have been holding continuous meetings that ran all day on Monday and will continue on February 6 and February 7.
Waqf Board will chairperson, Zufar Ahmad Farooqui, told TOI, “All the documentation for the case has been complete and senior SC advocate Shakeel Ahmed Syed will be the board’s advocate-onrecord.”
Convener of the Babri Masjid Action Committee, Zafaryab Jilani, told TOIfrom Delhi, “Most of the documents pertaining to the case have been submitted and meetings are being held with all senior advocates. We are ready for all deliberations inside the courtroom, even for a day to day hearing situation if it arises.”
A senior lawyer, Jilani will also represent the Muslim side in the SC.
