CHENNAI: Working as a warehouse supervisor in Saudi Arabia, O Mansoor Ahmed from Vellore had been missing the post-namaz discourse of imams in Tamil for the last seven Ramzans. This holy month, however, he diligently listens to two imams every evening. No, Ahmed has not flown down — he just logs on to watch the live webcast from two mosques in Chennai.

"Listening to the Tamil discourse during Ramzan has boosted my spiritual life. When the imam goes live, I log in," says Ahmed. Sensing a big demand for their webcasts, the imams have also started webcasting their Friday sermons.
