Mirzapur election results 2024: Anupriya Patel of ADAL wins with over 4.71 lakh votes

NEW DELHI: Anupriya Patel, representing the Apna Dal (Soneylal), won in the Lok Sabha elections in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh with a margin of 37,810 votes against SP's Ramesh Chand Bind

In the seventh phase of polling for the Mirzapur Lok Sabha seat held on Saturday, June 1, a significant voter turnout of 57.72% was recorded, as announced by the Election Commission (EC). This Lok Sabha constituency, one of Uttar Pradesh's prominent parliamentary seats, encompasses five assembly segments: Chhanbey, Mirzapur, Majhawan, Chunar, and Marihan. Currently, all these seats are held by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Historically, Mirzapur was a stronghold of the Indian National Congress, although the party hasn't clinched victory here since 1989. Over the years, the electorate has shown diverse political inclinations, electing candidates from various parties. The Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the BJP have all tasted success in this constituency.

In the 2019 General Assembly Elections, Mirzapur witnessed a fiercely contested battle with a voter turnout of 60.69%. Anupriya Singh Patel from ADS emerged victorious with a significant victory margin of 2,32,008 votes, securing a total of 5,91,564 votes. Anupriya Singh Patel defeated Ramcharitra Nishad of the SP, who received 3,59,556 votes.
