In 2018 and 2019, a theatre activist in Kolkata conducted a social experiment to gauge people's perception of menstruation. Navamita Chandra wore a white skirt featuring a big period stain at the back and walked around some of Kolkata's most crowded spots. On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, we at Times Special will give you a glimpse into Navamita's social experiment and find out how India perceives periods, even in the 21st century.
