Mangalsutra leads to suicide

RAJAPALAYAM: A 15-year-old girl committed suicide after she was kidnapped by four students and one of them tied a ''mangal sutra'' around her neck, police said here on Wednesday.
Jayabharathi was abducted by a student gang which had been teasing her regularly. Though her father had called and warned them, the students continued with their teasing and kidnapped her when she was on her way to school on June 28.
The traumatised girl consumed poison and died without responding to treatment at the Virudhunagar Govrenment Hospital on Wednesday.
Police are searching for the culprits based on the girl''s declaration before her death.
