NEW DELHI: A man was arrested for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter for over a year in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor.
The complaint was filed by a mother against her husband on Friday, accusing him of raping their daughter multiple times, according to PTI citing Circle Officer Anjani Kumar Chaturvedi.
The alleged incidents came to light when the mother confronted her husband about the abuse.
In response to the confrontation, the accused husband reportedly pronounced triple talaq, a form of instant divorce, and fled the scene. The mother then proceeded to lodge an FIR (First Information Report) based on her complaint.
On Saturday, the accused was apprehended by the authorities. Circle Officer Chaturvedi stated that the investigation into the case is ongoing, and further details will be revealed as the inquiry progresses.
