Man kills daughters, hangs self in Prayagraj

PRAYAGRAJ: A 35-year-old man allegedly stabbed two of his minor daughters to death and later hanged himself to death at Ramman Ka Pura under the limits of Dhoomanganj police station on Sunday afternoon.

Upon being alerted, senior police officials including DCP (City) Deepak Bhuker along with forces and forensic experts rushed to the spot and carried out investigations. The reason behind the incident was still unknown.

The deceased identified as Manish Prajapati alias Lalla (35) and two of his daughters, Nainsi (5) and Kushboo (3), were residents of Raman Ka Pura.

DCP told TOI that deceased Manish Prajapati, a painter by profession, was staying with his wife and two minor daughters at a rented accommodation at Ramman Ka Pura locality for the past couple of years.

He added “ On Sunday afternoon, when Manish's wife of Manish had gone to market, Manish closed the house from inside and then called wife to ask about her current location”. Manish also asked his wife to come home at the earliest.

When the wife arrived home around 2:30 pm, she found the house locked from inside and then witnessed manish hanging from a ceiling.

She immediately called up the landlord who then found Manish hanging and bodies of two minor daughters lying on bed in a pool of blood inside the house.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot.

DCP, meanwhile, said “ Police have been probing the case thoroughly to ascertain the cause behind the incident”. He also added that the wife of the painter was not able to speak too much about the incident.

Senior cops, however, deputed a team of forensic experts to find more clues and evidences regarding the incident.
