Man gets 10-yr RI for raping deaf & mute woman
JAMMU: A fast-track court in J&K’s Ramban has sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping and impregnating a deaf and mute woman in 2020.
Qayoom raped the woman several times and threatened to kill her if she revealed the assault to anyone, the prosecution said. However, the matter came to light when she became pregnant, prompting her family to file a police complaint.
The survivor identified the convict during an identification parade in the presence of a magistrate.
