Madurai reflects a diverse demographic and remains a crucial constituency of Tamil Nadu.

As for the 2024 candidates list in Madurai Lok Sabha Constituency, Saravanan from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam , Prof. Ramashreenivasan from Bharatiya Janata Party , Su Venkatesan from Communist Party Of India (marxist) and Sathya Devi from Naam Tamilar Katchi are the prominent candidates.

In the 2019 General Assembly Elections, Madurai witnessed a fiercely contested battle. This constituency witnessed a 65.77% voter turnout in the year 2019. CPI(M) candidate Venkatesan S won the 2019 General Election with a victory margin of 1,39,395 votes, securing 4,47,075 votes. Venkatesan S defeated Raj Satyen V.v.r of the AIADMK, who got 3,07,680 votes.

The Madurai Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled to vote on 19th April 2024, with the Election Commission announcing results on 4th June, as per their statement on March 16.
