‘Lynching cases to rise with PM’s growing popularity’
JAIPUR: Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Saturday warned of more cases of mob lynching which he connected to the rising popularity of PM

, Meghwal, who was in Jaipur for the state BJP’s working committee meeting, said tha these cases were a reaction to PM’s growing popularity and his good schemes, hinting that the lynching were a conspiracy to defame the BJP government."The more Modi’s popularity grows, the more would be such incidents.During the Bihar elections, it was 'Award Wapsi'; during the UP polls,it was mob lynching. Referring to the
1984 anti-Sikh riots
, he said that it was the biggest case of mob lynching. "We condemn mob lynching but this (Alwar) isn't a single incident. You have to trace this back in history. Why does this happen and who should stop this? What happened with Sikhs in 1984 was the biggest mob lynching of this nation's history," he added.State home minister
Gulab Chand Kataria
said that the culprits in the case would be severely punished. "We have laws to curb such incidents but yet, such things happen. We will try and bring in more stringent laws," he said.Top Comment
