Gujrat is celebrated as the bastion of Bhartiya Jana Party. Party's dominance in Gujarat was re-established in 2019 when it managed to win all 26 seats for the consecutive second time. However, it is notable that BJP has dropped five sitting MPs in its second list of candidates highlighting a stragic shift. This decision follows after the party's initial list of 195 candidates which covered 15 nominees in the 15 Lok Sabha seats.

The opposition parties including, Indian National Congress, Aam Aadmi party and other regional parties of the state will also look forward to reclaim their grounds in the state. Earlier in 2019 as well as 2014, INC faced major setback as it failed to win any seats in Gujarat.
