Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be held in 7 phases from 19th April and the counting of votes will be done on 4th June.
With 40 Lok Sabha constituencies, fourth highest among all states and union territories, Bihar holds crucial position in shaping Indian politics.
The state made headlines in January when chief minister Nitish Kumar decided to break away from Mahagathbandhan and joined hands with the BJP forming NDA government. Jitan Ram Manjhi's party Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) too joined the NDA alliance
In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, NDA that comprised of BJP, JDU and LJP won 39 out of 40 seats. The RJD, INC and RLSP's Mahagathbandhan could only manage one with INC's Mohammed Jawed emerging victorious from Kishanganj.
Further, previous election had 34 unreserved seats and 6 reserved seats for Scheduled Caste candidates.
