NEW DELHI: In an auction held at the Pazhapoosaian temple near Sivagiri village, witnessed quite the spectacle during the Mahasivarathiri festivities. In a customary auction, a single lemon stole the show by selling for an astonishing Rs 35,000.

Enthusiastic participation from 15 devoted individuals, including a successful bidder from Erode, turned this routine practice into an extraordinary event.

The temple priest played a key role by placing the prized lemon before Lord Shiva, followed by a brief pooja.

The lemon was then returned to the winning bidder, surrounded by a crowd of hundreds of fascinated devotees.
