Land for job case: CBI gets sanction to prosecute Lalu Prasad
NEW DELHI: The CBI has got the sanction to prosecute former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad in the land for jobs scam case.
Lalu and some of his family members allegedly benefited from bribes in the form of land in exchange for doling out railway jobs to undeserving candidates. It all began during Prasad's tenure as railway minister, it is alleged.
JD(U), an ally of Lalu's RJD has said it is a ploy to keep up the pressure on the RJD supremo.
Speaking to Times Now channel, Sunil Singh, JD(U) spokesperson said, "We respect whatever decision the court has set. Let the CBI start its prosecution. But up till now, we have seen that CBI has lost its credibility. It is being used by the central government to harass the political opponents. Had there been something against Lalu Prasad, up till now, CBI must have bought something. For so many years, they are just creating sensation at a time when some political things are going to happen. And that is the thing what CBI is doing. CBI will not find anything against Lalu Prasad."
BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand said Lalu Prasad has misused his office as railway minister to benefit self and family. Bihar's Grand Alliance parties are levelling baseless allegations against the Centre, he added.
"Whenever any news comes that CBI is moving ahead in IRCTCS camp, the Grand Alliance political parties and their leaders accuse CBI and the central government of harassing Lalu Prasad. But everyone must know that this case exists since the time Lalu Ji was a railway minister and he misused his office to get some benefit to register some land in the name of his son-son daughter."
CBI has named Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and daughter Misa Bharti among the accused in the case.

What is the point of prosecuting this history sheeted lalua when he is already half dead. Therefore, it is better to attach and auction all properties of his sons, daughters, family, relatives, close friends, near & dear ones (benami) so that lalua position can be reinstituted exactly when he came first time from village to Patna to live with uncle into veterinary peon house quarter.Read allPost comment
