Rai was released on bail along with his associate Rabindra in connection with the case of chasing and hitting the car of Kumar, who is also the ex-president of Indian Medical Association. Both Rabindra and Rai were detained at Sachivalaya police station.
SDPO (Sachivalaya) Sridhar Mandal said a case against the two had been lodged with Patna Airport police station. Anil was detained as the car used in the alleged kidnap bid belonged to him. It's not yet clear whether Rai was himself present in the car, said Mandal. The car used in the incident has been seized.
