NEW DELHI: Kerala’s Raj Bhavan, the chief minister’s official residence, several government offices, and Nedumbassery International Airport in Kochi received bomb threats on Monday, all of which were later confirmed as hoaxes by the police. According to the emails, threats targeted Raj Bhavan, Cliff House (the Chief Minister’s residence), and the airport.
The chief minister’s office and the State Transport Commissioner also received threat messages via email. Police conducted thorough inspections at all mentioned locations, including the state secretariat, but found nothing suspicious. Nedumbassery airport officials stated the threat claimed an RDX explosive had been planted there.
Both the state police and CISF carried out detailed checks. The CISF led anti-sabotage operations at airport terminals, while the state police secured the surrounding areas. Airlines increased security measures for southern-bound flights. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport also received a hoax threat the previous day. Recently, multiple key institutions across the state have been targeted with similar false threats.
