Kalam meets Kanchi seer

KANCHEEPURAM: Presidential nominee A P J Abdul Kalam met Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Jayendra Saraswathi at his ashram here on Sunday evening.
Kalam was with the seer for about half an hour.
Later, talking to reporters, Kalam said he was not a stranger to the Sankara mutt and was a frequent visitor to the ashram.
Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, meanwhile, said, "Kalam is above religion and beyond limitation of ordinary scientist...he is a revolutionary...".
Earlier, he visited Walajabad to see the progress of work of a village development project for Sankara Mutt.
He also visited the mosque situated near the mutt and offered prayers.
