NEW DELHI: Even as the trial in the Nitish Katara murder case involving UP politician D P Yadav's son Vikas entered a crucial phase, the Supreme Court on Friday appointed K K Singh as the special public prosecutor.

NEW DELHI: Even as the trial in the Nitish Katara murder case involving UP politician D P Yadav’s son Vikas entered a crucial phase, the Supreme Court on Friday appointed K K Singh as the special public prosecutor. He would replace criminal law expert S K Saxena.
Nitish’s mother Neelam Katara had told the apex court that Saxena was removed by the UP government because of pressure put by D P Yadav.

Saxena had expressed his unwillingness to continue as special PP when his views were ascertained by the authorities during the pendency of Neelam Katara’s petition.
