Jodhpur safari park loses only tigress to heat stroke

JODHPUR: Jodhpur's Machia Safari Park lost its only tigress, Ambika, on Monday due to heat stroke. She went to rest after her afternoon meal, but did not wake up, said the park ranger. "We tried to wake her up in the evening, but she did not move. We found her lifeless," said park ranger Balaram Bishnoi.

Ten-year-old Ambika was brought to the park from Kanpur along with a male tiger, Anthony, in 2016. With Ambika's death, Anthony, who is a little above 10 years, has been left alone in the park.
