J&K police close to cracking Amarnath attack case
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested at five over ground workers (OGW) from Kulgam district who supposedly provided logistical support to the Lashkar terrorists who attacked a Amarnath pilgrims’ bus at Batengoo in Khanbal in Anantnag district on July 11, killing seven pilgrims and injuring 19 others.
The police sources said, the Kulgam police today arrested five OGWs including two students who had provided motorbikes to the terrorists who carried attack on the Pilgrims’ bus near Khanbal 51 Kms from Srinagar at 8PM in the evening.

Earlier the police arrested driver cop of security wing of police who was deputed with PDP Wachi MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir for questioning in terror attack on Amarnath Pilgrims on july 14, 2017 who was allegedly involved in several terror activities including in providing support to terrorists in attacking the Amarnath Yatris bus.
The driver cop was identified as Touseef Ahmad and was picked up, SP Shopian Ambarkar Shriram had said.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir police today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the attack on a bus carrying Amaranth pilgrims.
The six-member SIT will be headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) South Kashmir, SP Pani. Other members of SIT include Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag, Altaf Ahmad Khan, one Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank officer.
