SRINAGAR: The last of the surviving terrorists involved in the 2019 attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama has been killed in an encounter in Anantnag, said IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar.

Samir Dar, a top Jaish commander, was killed along with two others in the encounter on December 30, he said.

Dar, according to Kumar, was the last survivor from those involved in the attack of February 14, 2019 in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed when an explosive laden vehicle rammed their convoy at Lethpora, Pulwama.

Dar was suspected to be among the three killed in the December 30 encounter at Dooru, Anantnag as he resembled pictures in police records. His identity was confirmed after DNA tests.

Of the three terrorists gunned down in the Anantnag encounter, one was a Pakistani while two were locals, Kumar said.
