The State Vigilance Organisation today registered a case against Kirmani, who was arrested yesterday, in this regard. The SVO has also registered a case against Sopore's municipal committee president, executive officer and administrator for allegedly allotting two shops in a double storied shopping complex to three persons at price lower than market rates, he said.
The shops were to be allotted to the shopkeepers displaced from a nearby Iqbal market during road widening process.
However, the beneficiaries were not among them. He said Sopore municipal council was found to have misused their official positions to gain undue benefits to themselves and beneficiaries.
SVO also filed a chargesheet in a local court against Dr Peer Shafeeq Ahmad and Mohammad Nazir Khan of Uri for bungling of Rs 34,041 against fictitious purchase of firewood, the spokesman said.
