NEW DELHI: Four terrorists of
Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed on Monday in an
encounter with security forces in Lassipora area of Pulwama district in
Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that three Army personnel & one cop sustained injuries. "They have been hospitalised and are in a stable condition. It was a clean operation, no collateral damage happened during the encounter," they said.
"Four terrorists have been eliminated in Pulwama operation," Srinagar-based defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said.
Identities of the terrorists have not been ascertained yet.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK rifles, 1 SLR and a pistol have been recovered from the site.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Lassipora area of Pulwama following specific information about the presence of terrorists in early hours, a police official said.
He said the search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists fired upon the search party of the forces.
