Jittery administration okays holiday decision

AMBALA(HARYANA): Transport minister Om Parkash Jain's unplanned announcement made at Republic Day programme of holiday on Thursday and its implementation sent the authorities in the district administration into jittery, forcing it to withdraw its decision of having working day in schools on Sunday.
"We have withdrawn the orders. Hence, there would be holiday in all the education instutions in the district on Sunday," said Ambala district education officer (DEO) Nisha Sharma.
The district education department acted following the stiff resistance put up by locals, especially the parents of students studying in private and government schools.
