NEW DELHI: The Cabinet is likely to clear allotment of a one-acre plot in central Delhi for building second state guest house for Jharkhand. This will come as a big relief for the state which has been pursuing the case for a state bhawan for over a decade.
At present, the sole Jharkhand guesthouse is in Vasant Vihar. On the other hand, almost all other states have their Bhawans in central Delhi.
Though Vasant Vihar is a prime residential area, visitors often find it difficult to commute to the key government offices located around Parliament.
The present state guesthouse has 20 rooms and is not enough to meet the requirement considering the number of legislators and state government officials who come down to Delhi frequently.
