Jawan beaten up by cops in Bihar

An Army jawan was beaten up by a group of policemen at Shahpur Chowk in Warisaliganj assembly segment, Nawada, on Monday. Shahpur SHO Vinita Kumari remained tight-lipped while Warisaliganj police circle inspector Sanjiv Kumar feigned ignorance. Naik Nandan Kumar Singh was returning home after buying household provisions. When they reached Shahpur Chowk, police signalled Singh to stop. While frisking the bags containing the provisions bought from the canteen, an altercation ensued between Singh and the cops, who beat him with lathis.
