NEW DELHI: BJP's Bidyut Baran Mahato emerges victorious by winning 7,26,174 votes. He defeated JMM candidate Samir Kumar Mohanty by a margin of 2,59,782 votes.
Bhartiya Janta Party's (BJP) has defeated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's (JMM) Samir Kumar Mohanty with a margin of 259782 votes at the Jamshedpur constituency of Jharkhand in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The BJP candidate who got votes while JMM's Samir Kumar Mohanty received 466392 votes. The other two prominent ones were both independent candidates, Indra Deo Prasad and Arun Mahato who got 8,469 and 7,344 votes, respectively.
Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 14 parliamentary constituencies in Jharkhand state. It is classified as a General category parliament seat and encompasses the entire East Singhbhum district.
The Lok Sabha elections for this constituency took place on May 25 during the sixth voting phase. In the 2024 elections, prominent candidates include Vidhyut Baran Mahato from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Samir Kumar Mohanty from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
In 2019, it had 1,703,279 electors, with 1,144,226 valid votes cast. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bidyut Baran Mahato won the seat, securing 679,632 votes. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Champai Soren came in second with 377,542 votes, losing by a margin of 302,090 votes.
