Early celebrations

Vote counting
Checkpoints have been set up within a 100-meter perimeter of each counting centre and CCTV cameras have been installed in all strong rooms where the EVMs are stored to closely monitor all activities. (AP)
Security at voting centers
Three security circles have been made around both the counting centres. Paramilitary force (Central Armed Police Force) personnel have been deployed in the first circle, State Armed Police in the second circle and district police personnel in the third circle. (PTI)
First elections since Article 370
Counting of votes began on Tuesday morning for 90 Assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, the final lap of an electoral exercise that will give the union territory its first elected government since 2019 when Article 370 was abrogated. These are also the first assembly elections in J&K since 2014. (PTI)

Voting percentage
According to a statement from the Election Commission of India, the state saw a voter turnout of 63.88 percent during the election cycle. (AP)

NC leader Omar Abdullah, who earlier won from Budgam, also won from the Ganderbal assembly seat which has served as the Abdullah family's stronghold. (PTI)
