Italy slams Delhi blast, will work with India to fight terrorism
NEW DELHI: At a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Italian PM Giorgia Meloni expressed solidarity with India over the terror incident in Delhi and reiterated Italy's strong commitment to work together to combat the scourge of terrorism.
To this end, both the PMs adopted the 'India-Italy Joint Initiative to Counter Financing of Terrorism'. The government said that the initiative aims to deepen bilateral cooperation on countering terrorism and collaboration at global and multilateral platforms, including the Financial Action Task Force and the Global Counter Terrorism Forum.
"The leaders reviewed and positively assessed the developments in the bilateral Strategic Partnership across sectors such as trade and investment, defence, security, space, science & technology, education and people-to-people ties. Both leaders expressed satisfaction at the progress of the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-29," said an Indian readout. Meloni also reiterated Italy's strong support for the conclusion of a mutually beneficial India-EU Free Trade Agreement and for the success of the AI Impact Summit to be hosted by India.
PM Modi and Meloni looked forward to continuing their dialogue and working together at multilateral and global platforms to uphold their shared values.

Happy to know that Italy shares India's concern on terrorism but equally rather more sad to say that Italy born has soft corner for terrorists in India. It is said terrorism has no religion but all terrorist activites are related to Islamists in IndiaRead allPost comment
