The rocket will lift off from the first launch pad in Sriharikota at 11.37pm on Thursday.

Isro officials said the mission readiness review committee and launch authorisation board cleared the 28-hour countdown activity.

PSLV, in its 46th flight and 35th from the first launch pad at the spaceport, will inject 740kg Microsat-R in a 277km orbit. Isro will also be demonstrating a technology for the first time where the stage four of the rocket will be revived to help student satellite Kalamsat to conduct experiments and send data to the ground station.

PSLV-C44 is the first mission with a new variant PSLV-DL with two strap-ons, each carrying a 12.2-tonne propellent.
