IAF aircraft departs with humanitarian assistance for Gazans
Amid the Israel-Hamas war, an Indian Air Force C17 aircraft carrying humanitarian assistance for Gazans departed for the El-Arish airport in Egypt on Sunday.
Aircraft carries 32 tonnes of aid for Gazans
The C17 aircraft is carrying 32 tonnes of aid for civilians in Gaza caught up in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. This is the second IAF aircraft carrying humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on his official X account reaffirmed India's commitment to extend humanitarian assistance to Gazans. "We continue to deliver humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine. Second @IAF_MCC C17 aircraft carrying 32 tonnes of aid departs for the El-Arish Airport in Egypt," he said.
38 tonnes of aid was sent earlier
Around 38 tonnes of aid for people caught up in the ongoing ground offensive by the Israeli forces in the Strip was sent earlier.
India had planned to send more humanitarian assistance
The spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) recently had said that New Delhi was planning to send more humanitarian assistance to the affected civilians in the region.
What do aid packages contain?
Fluids, painkillers, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, basic sanitary utilities, and water purification tablets, among other items are included in the aid packages.
Why did Israel launch military operations in Gaza?
Israel's military operations in Gaza were launched in response to the Hamas terror attacks in southern Israel on October 7, which left over 1,400 dead.
