Infighting in JKLF grows: Amanullah criticised
NEW DELHI: Factional war within the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has increased with its London-based leader accusing its other faction of turning a blind eye towards the woes of people in Gilgit and Baltistan besides dancing to Pakistani tunes.
"Amanullah Khan claims to be a nationalist leader and represents one group of JKLF. He had an opportunity to say that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is disputed and that people suffer to varying degree on both sides.
"He could have whipped India for human rights violations but he should also have mentioned the injustice in Gilgit, Baltistan and the Kashmir in Pakistan's control," Chairman of JKLF's diplomatic Committee Shabir Chaudhary said in a statement.

The JKLF leader was referring to a discussion aired by Pakistan's GEO Television in which Kashmiri leaders were called to discuss the situation in the state.
He questioned the sincerity of Khan by saying the reason for armed struggle in India was that New Delhi did not accept the right of self determination of people of Kashmir.
"Now Pakistan is doing the same thing by claiming Gilgit and Blatistan as part of its territory. Is Amanullah Khan going to start an armed struggle in Pakistan as well," he asked.
Chaudhary said Khan would not say a word against the policies of Pakistan, which is only to focus on the other sides of Jammu and Kashmir and not to manoeuvre around Gilgit or Baltistan.
"He has done this very sincerely and honestly throughout his life, and has been appropriately rewarded for this," the JKLF leader said adding "Khan knows what is at stake if he goes against his contract with the Pakistani establishment which he cannot afford."
