'India's richest woman' doesn't own a car

HISAR: She is said to be India's richest woman. But Congress nominee from Hisar assembly seat, Savitri Jindal, does not own a car. However, the Haryana minister for revenue has wealth worth $2.1 billion, according to the Forbes Magazine survey of richest women of the world.
In her statement given before the returning officer, while filing her nomination, Jindal said she has moveable property worth Rs 17.75 crore and immovable property worth Rs 25.94 crore.
Jindal has 9 kg of gold and jewellery worth Rs 3.25 crore and 221-kg 655-gram silver worth Rs 43 lakh.
Mother of industrialist MP Naveen Jindal, she has Rs 2.33 lakh in cash, Rs 24.09 lakh in banks and shares worth Rs 8.98 crore.
She has a life insurance policy of Rs 1.17 lakh and other movable assets worth Rs 4.82 crore.
Savitri Jindal owns agriculture land worth Rs 49.42 lakh in Raigarh and Maharashtra, has a residential house in Urban Estate, Hisar, worth Rs 74 lakh and a palatial house on O P Jindal Marg, Hisar, worth Rs 24.71 crore.
Meanwhile, Jasma Devi, wife of former chief minister Bhajan Lal, who is among the richest politicians of Haryana, filed her nominations as a candidate (Nalwa) of her son Kuldeep Bishnoi's party, Haryana Janhit Congress. She has Rs 24.59 lakh in cash, while Lal has Rs 52.98 lakh.
Jasma Devi has 292 grams gold ornaments worth Rs 4.80 lakh and 17.50 grams silver worth Rs 55,000.
The Haryana Janhit Congress supremo's mother has a house worth Rs 23 lakh in Hardwar and a flat worth Rs 18.38 lakh in Vrindaban. Lal has a plot measuring 300 yards worth Rs 75 lakh and a house at Hardwar worth Rs 23 lakh.
