The Indian delegations on Operation Sindoor to Japan and the United Arab Emirates briefed officials in both countries on Thursday. Multi-party teams have been sent from India to 33 nations to highlight terrorism emanating from Pakistan and to assert India's right to self-defence following Operation Sindoor.
The delegation to the UAE, led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, held meetings with top Emirati leaders, including Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Dr Ali Alnuaimi. The discussions focused on India and UAE’s shared commitment to fighting terrorism in all forms.
“Together in the fight against terrorism,” the Indian Embassy in the UAE said, while sharing photos from the meetings.
Meanwhile, in Japan, JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha led a delegation that included members from the BJP, Congress, TMC, CPI(M), and former diplomats. The team met Japanese foreign minister Takeshi Iwaya, who reiterated support for India’s anti-terror stance and appreciated New Delhi’s restraint. They also held meetings with former prime minister Yoshihide Suga, security committee leaders, and policy think tanks, all of whom expressed solidarity with India.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the deadly attack in Pahalgam, following which India launched targeted strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on 7 May. Pakistan attempted retaliatory strikes on 8, 9, and 10 May, but Indian forces responded decisively. Active hostilities ceased after military talks on 10 May.
India’s international outreach aims to build pressure on Pakistan and gather global backing to isolate terror networks. The remaining delegations will soon head to more capitals across the world to carry the message forward.
