The decision, the government said on Saturday, was taken at a high-level meeting where Modi reviewed the status of Covid-19 and vaccine preparedness across states and union territories. According to the health ministry guidelines on Covid-19 vaccination, the latest electoral roll for Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections will be used to identify the population aged 50 years or more.

Already disinformation campaign has been Started by some vested interests and politicians of the opposition targeting the minority communities. They are discouraging people from getting vaccinated by telling that it makes people impotent, animal extract has been used, it is against religious beliefs, it is BJP vaccine, not properly tested, etc. All such people should be dealt with severely for spreading falacies. Even some opposition ruled states may wilfully not implement the vaccination program as per the laid down procedure and blame the centre. Media should be used extensively to reach out to the public to educate them about the vaccines that has been developed and encourage them to get themselves vaccinated irrespective of their religious beliefs.
