Indians, NRIs and PIOs, dominated the shortlist for the DSC prize for South Asian Literature announced in London on October 26.
Amit Chaudhuri's 'The Immortals' and Manju Kapur's 'The Immigrant' are on the list along with US-based Tania James' 'Atlas of Unknowns' and London and New York-based Neel Mukherjee's 'A Life Apart'.
Half the list consists of first novels; apart from James and Mukherjee, HM Naqvi's 'Home Boy' which has been shortlisted is also a first novel.
Naqvi lives in Karachi which was once home to Toronto-based Pak writer Musharraf Ali Farooqui, nominated for 'The Story of a Widow'.
