The Consulate expressed sorrow over the demise of Shreyas Reddy Benigeri, who was pursuing studies at the Lindner School of Business in Cincinnati. In an official statement posted on Thursday, the Consulate assured that they are in constant contact with the family and providing all necessary assistance.

This incident follows a series of unfortunate events involving Indian students in the United States. Just days before Benigeri, 25-year-old Vivek Saini, an Indian MBA graduate, was brutally attacked by 25-year-old Julian Faulkner, a homeless drug addict. The horrifying incident, captured on camera, showed Faulkner striking Saini approximately 50 times on the head with a hammer.

In another recent incident, Neel Acharya, an Indian student, was reported missing and later confirmed dead by the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office. Authorities responded to a distressing scene at 500 Allison Road in West Lafayette, where the lifeless body of the college-aged male was discovered on a Sunday morning.
