Indian-origin politician from Germany addresses UN human rights council
NEW DELHI: Indian-origin Rahul Kumar Kamboj, a politician and member of the Frankfurt City Parliament in Germany, addressed the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
Kamboj participated in a panel discussion titled “Rights of Vulnerable Persons in the Middle East and Asia – Indo-Mediterranean Political Changes,” alongside European leaders including Senator Marco Dreosto (Italy), Hon. Naike Gruppioni (Italy), Erik Selle (Norway), and Prof. Fabio Cestelli (Italy).
In his speech, Kamboj spoke about the need for global cooperation to protect vulnerable communities and called for inclusive policies and stronger protection mechanisms, reported ANI.
The event was organized by UNITED VILLAGES, CAP Liberté de Conscience, and Italia Che Cambia APS, and was moderated by Vas Shenoy, President of Glocal Cities.
Kamboj, originally from Haryana, India, is the first person from the state to speak at the UN on human rights issues.
