NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday successfully test-fired two short-range ballistic missiles — Prithvi-II and Agni-I — from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. The tests were carried out under the Strategic Forces Command, which handles India’s nuclear weapons arsenal. Both missiles met all mission objectives, validating key operational and technical parameters, officials said. The latest launch comes after the successful trial of the indigenously developed Akash Prime missile in Ladakh. The upgraded surface-to-air missile has been customised for high-altitude operations, and was tested at an elevation above 4,500 metres, the defence ministry had said.
