NEW DELHI: After Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif raked up the Kashmir issue at the United Nations General Assembly (

), External Affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup on Wednesday responded sharply to some of the remarks he made. He also criticized Sharif for his failure to discuss the recent terror attack in Uri.

"PM Sharif at UNGA says India poses unacceptable conditions to dialogue. India's only condition is an end to terrorism. This is not acceptable" Swarup asked on External Affairs Ministry's Twitter handle. He was responding to Sharif's allegation Pakistan had been ready to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue, but that New Delhi had putting forward 'unacceptable pre-conditions'.

There was more. Responding to Sharif's comment that Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani was a symbol of the Kashmiri "intifada," Swarup said the Pakistan PM's glorification of Wani showed his county's "attachment to terrorism."

And finally, Swarup criticized Sharif's failure to explicitly mention the recent terror attack in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir - which claimed the lives of 17 Indian jawans, and injured 19 more. He said Sharif was "in complete denial of Uri terror attack."

"19 infiltration attempts stopped at LoC this year. Indigenous??!!" he asked, pointing to the role Pakistan is widely seen as having played in the attack.
