'India belongs to England': UK man racially abuses Indian-origin woman on train; see video

A drunk UK man went on a racist rant abusing an Indian-origin woman and a man on train while raving about how England had conquered the world, including India.

The incident occurred on a train when a 26-year-old Gabrielle Forsyth, who was travelling from London to Manchester, found herself in a heated argument with another passenger after mentioning her volunteer work with a charity supporting immigrants, Metro reported.

"You are in cahoots with current immigrants. You’re in England, you are claiming something. You would not be in England if you weren’t claiming something," the man, reportedly drunk, was heard saying in a video posted online.



When another passenger retorted saying that he pays taxes, the man rolled his eyes and continued boasting about the UK's colonial history.

"English people conquered the world and then gave it back to you. We conquered India, we didn't want it. We gave it back to India."

When the woman disagreed, the man continued, "India belong to England and we gave it back. We did not want it."

After the incident, in a post on X, she said, "Being Indian, being the daughter of an immigrant, being in touch with my history and heritage is a blessing and a gift and I am grateful every day to have the ability to stand up for myself and for people of colour. I back myself and us all to the hilt."
