A terrible day for the people of India and Pakistan. India and Pakistan started as developing countries. Both of them were doing very well economically, when unfortunately in 1970 Pakistan came under the sway of religious extremists and its progress dwindled, but India continued as a progressive country. People of Pakistan looked at India and wished why they could not stick to the Indian model of democracy and secularism. They came to their senses and fought against the religious extremists. Many thousands died and billions of assets were lost. As they were coming out of their difficult situation. India, considered a secular state, where people of all religions lived with each other peacefully, except for occaissional outburst of religious right creating difficulties for the religious minorities, particularly Muslims, has taken a turn. Now unfortunately with the Kashmir situation worsening and anti-Pakistan propaganda, a winning strategy, for some political parties, I am afraid that India is starting on a path Pakistan took in the 1970s. For citizens of these two countries there is no moral compass. A chance still exists. Please India and Pakistan sit down together, find a solution to your problems peacefully without fighting. The concept of surgical strike does not work with countries having enough military assets. There will be strikes and counter strikes. If it escalates the there will be no India and no Pakistan. God save these two people with common ancestry
