Swami Dayanand Brahmchari, a co-founder of Matri Sadan Ashram and Dr Vijay Verma, a physician who has been associated with the ashram for a long time, said reduction in the weight of Swami Poornanand came to light after a 3-member team of doctors comprising Dr Sanjeev Nigam, Dr Udai Narain Pandey and Dr DS Rai measured his weight as part of medical check up as his fast entered the 8th day on Saturday.
They said the team of doctors from Haridwar district hospital told them that overall medical examination of fasting swami revealed that although, he has lost 3 kg weight so far, he has not yet developed keytone bodies in him that indicates sharp decline in his health condition.
These doctors said once keytone bodies start developing in his body, his fat level will go down resulting in worsening his condition.
"Under the circumstances, we will be left with no option but to shift him to hospital to force-feed him," said Dr Sanjeev Nigam.

Swami Dayanand Brahmchari said Swami Poornanand Sarswati is fully determined to continue his indefinite fast till a CBI probe is ordered into circumstances leading death of Swami Nigmanand who was apparently injected poison by a paramedical staff in Haridwar district hospital on April 30 after he was shifted there on April 27.
Fasting Poornanad’s two other demands are imposing a total ban on illegal quarrying and stone-crushing in 80 km long Kumbh area from Munni ki Reti in Tehri district to Laksar in Haridwar and officers responsible for hatching conspiracy in his murder.
