Lives lost, many injured and critical

The devastating LPG tanker fire on the Ajmer-Jaipur Highway early Friday has left a trail of casualties, injuries, and missing persons. Out of the 80 people injured, at least 30 are reported to be in critical condition.

Death toll rises

Authorities informed on Saturday that the death toll rose to 14. The fire started early Friday morning when an LPG tanker collided with a truck, causing a gas leak and a huge blaze.

Financial aid for victims

The Rajasthan government has pledged Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured, while the Central government has announced an additional Rs 2 lakh for the bereaved families.

Witnesses described harrowing scenes of people running in panic, attempting to remove burning clothes, while a green corridor was established to expedite the transport of the injured to hospitals.

Vehicles up in flames

The LPG tanker collided with a truck, igniting a massive fire that engulfed the area in an inferno, with at least 37 vehicles going up in flames. The highway was reopened later that night after all vehicles were cleared.
