During her journey by local train, she interacted with fellow commuters during the 30-km ride. According to reports, more than 65 lakh people travel by suburban trains in the Mumbai region every day. (Nirmala Sitharaman's X account)

Taking to X, Devendra Fadnavis also shared a video of Sitharaman interacting with commuters and wrote, "In the government led by respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, every leader is working as a public servant to bring change in the life of the last person of the country." Travelling along with Nirmala Sitharaman was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the commuters. Many of them were seen taking selfies with the minister.
