SHAMLI/ROHTAK: Four friends from Haryana's Sonipat district were killed late Friday night when their car rammed into a canter on the Panipat-Khatima highway near the Butrada flyover in Shamli, report Sachin Sharma & Sat Singh. Police said the group had set off for Haridwar on an impulse trip to take a holy dip in the Ganga. Around 11pm, halfway into their 215km journey, their car crashed into a truck parked outside a roadside eatery. The victims - Sahil Mor (21), Paramjeet Mor (24), Vivek Mor (22) and Ashish Mor (22) - were residents of Baroda village. Paramjeet was to be married on Sunday, while Ashish's wedding was scheduled for December.Additional SP Santosh Kumar said the impact was so severe that both rear tyres were dislodged. "The car's front portion was completely crushed and all four men died on the spot." News of the crash plunged Baroda village into mourning, as wedding preparations turned into funeral arrangements.
