IIT-B trespasser attends classes, stays in hostel

Mumbai police arrested Bilal Teli, a 22-year-old from Mangaluru, for trespassing and attending classes at IIT Powai without authorization. Teli stayed on campus from June 4th, attending lectures until a professor asked for his ID, leading to his apprehension. He admitted to illegally staying on campus to attend engineering lectures, despite not being a student.

Mumbai police has booked a man for trespassing and attending classes at IIT Powai campus, report V Narayan & Hemali Chhapia. Bilal Teli, 22, from Mangaluru, stayed on the campus from June 4 and was noticed by several professors during classes. During a session, a professor requested Teli to present his ID card, prompting him to flee. The professor alerted security officials.On June 19, security officials arrested Teli and handed him over to police. DCP (Zone X) Datta Nalawade said they did not find anything suspicious about Teli. "He said he came to attend a one-day programme at IIT but did not leave as he wanted to attend engineering lectures. He attended classes and stayed there."Police said Bilal admitted he was not an IIT student and was illegally staying on campus from June 2 to June 7, and again from June 10.
