Husband-wife duo to run dist panchayat
The district panchayat in tribal-dominated Dangs is all set to become a family-run body.
After making a clean sweep in the panchayat polls for the first time in the communally charged Dangs district, BJP leaders have surprised everyone by offering the posts of president and vice-president of the panchayat to a husband-wife duo Ramesh Chaudhary alias Ramesh Don and his wife Babyben Chaudhary.
BJP had won 10 of the 17 seats in the Dangs district panchayat, a result that was viewed as a major setback for the Congress.
