'Humiliated' Congress leader Amarinder Singh meets Amit Shah, sparks speculation about future political move
NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh, who was unceremoniously removed as chief minister of Punjab by the grand old party, met Union home minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Wednesday amid speculations about his future move.
Amarinder was forced to quit as Punjab CM after a bitter power tussle with Navjot Singh Sidhu, who led a sustained campaign against the veteran Congress leader.
Amarinder later tweeted that he discussed the prolonged farmers’ agitation against the three farm laws with the Union home minister and urged him to resolve the crisis urgently.
However, Amarinder's meeting with the Union home minister assumes significance as the former Punjab CM has made it clear that "all his political options are open."
"Future politics is always an option and I will exercise my options when the time comes," Captain Amarinder Singh had said after stepping down as the chief minister of Punjab.
Amarinder, who had said that he felt "humiliated" by the way Congress removed him, had also made it clear that he would fight back and can make any compromise to ensure that Sidhu did not become the chief minister of the state.
The former CM had cited Sidhu's close ties with the Pakistani establishment to state that he was "dangerous for the border state."
He not only slammed Sidhu but also questioned the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka.
The veteran Congress leader had then said that the Gandhi siblings were "quite inexperienced" and their advisers were "misguiding" them.

It is said that as men / women get older they start acting like kids and this is what is happening to Captain Amarinder ! No wonder . Well if he was humiliated by the Congress he should have waited for a month or two , why this hurry ? Money ? BJP has tonnes of money and can give hefty sums of money to any one who joins the BJP by dumping the party of origin . People of Punjab are certainly not going to appriciate the Captain's move . Well the coming elections will show the reality ... But the old and young Congress Men and Women should quit the Congress Party under the fake and good for nothing Gandhis and join the party of their choice . Some times one wonders are Gandhis and Sudhu the agents of BJP like Owaisi ? Could be ! For the sake of hefty sums of Money the Gandhis can sell themselves and destroy the old Congress Party once and for all . Read allPost comment
