HP to give women Rs 1,500 a month

After surviving a bid to topple his govt during the Budget session, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday announced Rs 1,500 per month to be provided to women in the age group of 18 to 60 years eligible under the Indira Gandhi Pyaari Behna Samman Nidhi Yojana from April 1. With this, he said that Congress govt had fulfilled its fifth poll guarantee made during the 2022 assembly polls.

Addressing mediapersons here, Sukhu said that implementation of the scheme from financial year 2024-25 would benefit five lakh women. CM said women in Lahaul-Spiti district had started getting Rs 1,500 from Feb 25 and this pension would be available in other areas of the state as well.
